Dadami (pronounced da-da-mee) is the newest addition to the Nguyen household.  MacDuff is getting older, and he's getting really bored just laying around the house and entertaining himself.  About a year ago, he stopped playing games with himself and appeared to be settling into old age. I didn't really want another dog right now, but we decided to get a buddy for MacDuff to help keep him young. 

The name "Dadami" has a funny story behind it.  When we decided to get another dog, we were trying to decide between a pound-puppy, or another golden retriever.  We thought that we were "all goldened out", so we went to local Humane Societies and shelters looking for a decent puppy.  We paid a bunch of money for our last purebred dog (Peter the Beagle) and got burned pretty bad.  So, we were hoping to avoid the price tag with a pound puppy.  We test drove a few puppies, but none of them really seemed to fit.  Then we get an email from the golden breeder saying that there was one unsold boy from the last litter... and the price was heavily reduced.  We went to see him... and he came home with us.  Big surprise.

So, in order to justify the cost of the dog, Erica had to make room for him in the budget.  We ended up cutting our sushi budget, which meant not going to our favorite sushi restaurant for about 3 months.  Our favorite sushi restaurant is named "Dadami Bang".
